The Marmoset Brain Connectivity Project is a collaborative effort aimed at creating an integrated resource containing knowledge about nervous system architecture. The project was originally initiated by Dr. Hideyuki Okano and Dr. Partha Mitra on ‘Brain-Mapping Projects Using the Common Marmoset.‘  The data were generated as part of the Japanese Brain/MINDS initiative, which has focused on the common marmoset (Callithrix Jacchus) as a model organism, and was generated using ‘A high-throughput neurohistological pipeline’ to map mesoscale connectivity in the marmoset brain.

    About the Project

Currently, we only have a partial knowledge about brain connectivity and nervous system architecture. Even with extensive studies on the rodent species, our knowledge is still incomplete and the information that is present in literature is spread widely across multiple research resources. The goal of the Brain Architecture Project is to collate information from these resources and to generate primary data sets that enable information integration.
